Children’s Mercy Home for Little Heroes

There is nothing more valuable than being able to uplift those who need it in our community. That is why McCray Lumber and Millwork is proud to have contributed to the Children’s Mercy Home for Little Heroes with Summit Homes in 2018. Through donated materials as well as ongoing support, we are honored to have been a part of such an incredible project that will help change the lives of many for the better.

The Children’s Mercy Home for Little Heroes was a joint effort put together by partners in the building community who all teamed up to craft a zero-cost home through donated labor, materials, and services. Once completed, this home was sold, and all of the proceeds were donated to Children’s Mercy Hospital. Known for their world-class medical care, Children’s Mercy has taken care of young people in the Kansas City area for over 120 years through their hospitals, research institute, and more. With the money raised through this Home for Little Heroes, Children’s Mercy will be able to continue their great work of saving lives.

Located in Olathe, Kansas at the Reserve at Ravenwood, this particular Home for Little Heroes is stunning not only in its giving power, but also when it comes to curb appeal. Incorporating coveted modern elements like large windows and steep angles with the look of a traditional farmhouse, this home catches eyes of all who pass by with a wrap-around porch complete with stunning dark accents that help the white exterior shine.

Inside of the Home for Little Heroes, there is nearly 5,500 square feet of living space, including a finished basement, formal dining space, cozy library, chef’s kitchen, and more. The open floorplan of the great room creates a multi-functional space for families to enjoy, while luxurious guest suites, bathrooms, and more add a priceless finishing touch.

A stunning addition to the community, as well as a unique way to give back, this Children’s Mercy Home for Little Heroes is a beautiful reminder of what we can accomplish when we all work together.
