It is a non-woven, vapor-permeable material that is wrapped completely around the house, cut around windows and doors, and sealed with tape at the seams. It is installed under the siding and over the sheathing and insulation, providing a water-resistant barrier.
Tyvek HomeWrap battles water, moisture and air filtration. Its material offers a breathable structure that prevents water from entering the home, keeps heating and air conditioned air from escaping, but still allows moisture vapor to pass through and keep the stud wall and insulation dry, preventing mold and mildew.
