Kansas City NARI Futures Fund

Careers in the remodeling industry are an important part of the workforce, but are often overlooked when it comes to job searches. Due to an overwhelming desire for parents to put their kids through college, careers in the trade industry are all too often cast aside. Due to this, the trade industry is facing a major labor shortage.

That is where the Kansas City NARI Futures Fund comes into play.

The Kansas City NARI Futures Fund is an effort to help promote careers in the remodeling industry. This fund focuses on fundraising and giving efforts toward attracting individuals to careers in the industry, as well as improving training, education, and job opportunities that are available from remodeling contractors, subcontractors, and other related supplier companies.

The goals of the Fund are:

  • Enhance the public perception about careers in the remodeling industry.
  • Create opportunities for those looking for rewarding careers to experience and understand the career paths and rewards within the remodeling industry.
  • Work with the community and secondary schools to prioritize education and training in skills important to the remodeling industry.
  • Provide resources to assist individuals that show interest in establishing a career in the remodeling industry through education, training, and exposure to remodeling contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.

As a lumber supplier, McCray Lumber and Millwork is a proud sponsoring partner of the fund, and hopes to help raise awareness for the labor shortage, and the importance of careers in the trade industry. Without the trade industry jobs, remodeling projects would be few and far between, and nowhere near the high caliber that they are today on experienced job sites.
